Savage Model 42 .410/22WMR
« on: July 23, 2012, 09:25:14 AM »
Savage is now making a model 42 which is suppose to be an updated/new age model 24. Has anyone got their hands on one, shot one, etc? What did you think of it?

I know the 24 is a good little piece to have but thought this might be a good gift for a nephew or even a truck gun on grouse/ coyote for me.

I was just reading up on it a bit more and yeah, it does appear that they will be making some other combos. I will wait for the 20guage/22wmr combo as well or a .223 combo. See what they come up with and what the final product looks like.

Hmmm...cute--But I'll just keep the model 24 that I paid $35 for.  :o

If they build one in .223 12 ga or 243 12 ga i'm buying one.  I was really sad to see the 24 go away glad they are coming back with a caombo gun.

Me too! 243/12ga would be the one for me.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

If they built that gun I might be an exclusive predator hunter... Bear, cougar, Bobs and coyotes... That gun in Iron sites would be one hell of a west side varmint slayer!

If you figure in the inflation factor, you probably got a better deal than I did!

why did they make it so ugly.   :dunno:
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.
